View! C3RF “In Hot” interview with Jeff Evely of “walking in the woods” fame

Afghan war veteran, Jeff Evely, had the audacity to challenge Nova Scotia’s “walking in the woods” ban and received a fine in excess of $28,000 for his troubles.  Meanwhile, it appears that homeless encampments, indigenous plays and even a lesbian wedding are somehow considered exempt from any such ban.  Does Nova Scotia have an aversion to Canadians who do not identify with an identifiable group or just our war veterans?  Or maybe this is just a prelude to national “climate change” lockdowns ?  Listen in for a first-hand account of just what is happening in Nova Scotia.

Executive Director of the Delta Hospice Society in British Columbia, Angelina Ireland, relates her year’s long battle with that province over mandatory MAiD protocols.  From the appropriation of millions of dollars worth of buildings and assets to personal threats, there is nothing out of bounds when it comes to deep-sixing authentic palliative care on Canada’s left coast.  This is a story worth hearing and a cause worth supporting!

Irrational

Will your irrational babble silence people, and when you mock them, will you escape without being shamed? Job 11:3

Given the textbook definition of irrationality as a thing that is not governed by or according to reason, one could make the case that Canada, and indeed the Western world writ-large, is saturated with such a lack of coherence.  Indeed, the state of irrationality can be seen to permeate all social strata from the lowly citizen absorbed with putting food on the table to his or her betters manning the levers of institutional power and operating them self-righteously in the name of the “public good”.  At the end of the day, however, no one can blame the citizen for wondering how $28,000 fines for “walking in the woods” or $94,000 in legal costs for “gender identity” offenses can rationally be connected to the objective of securing the “public good”.  Meanwhile, those throwing the levers of power respond by saying they are not the irrational ones - it’s citizens like you who are phobic and stuffed full of irrational fears!

Government charges that irrational thinking and behaviour was rampant among everyday Canadians had their start early in the first Trudeau administration of 2015.  They would take the form of “systemic racism” and religious discrimination, specifically through “Islamophobia”, and would be formally stated within the body of Motion M-103.  The calling up of Islamophobia as a widespread and irrational fear of one particular religion would receive parliamentary approval in early 2017 and pave the way for money to flow into related programs.  More critically, however, was the concomitant ramping up of the censoring of opinions and debates that challenged the special status of all things Islamic.  If  you don’t think ISIS fighters should be allowed back into Canada then you are Islamophobic.  If a political leader in one province calls for the scrapping of the position of the “special representative on combating Islamophobia”, then the whole province is Islamophobic.

The strategy of circumventing charges of irrationality by turning the tables on your critics and labelling them as phobic has worked handsomely over the past decade.  Indeed, it has been so successful that it has been mass produced to protect a host of other ill thought-out social  policies with “diversity, inclusion and equity”  (DIE) and “climate change” being prime among them.  So it is that those uncomfortable with accepting related dogmas as self-evident truths are pilloried as transphobes for wondering if men can be women and vice versa or climate deniers for wondering why foregone conclusions are allowed to taint climate change research.  The accusations come fast and furious against those who, inevitably, are never allowed to get a word in edgewise.  The resulting absence of any debate on any of these protected narratives is disquieting for society-writ-large as wide swaths of it are left wondering, are we really the irrational ones?

Topsy turvy

to the land of deepest night, of utter darkness and disorder, where even the light is like darkness. Job 10:22

Absent any ability for regular folk to challenge the new and reality-liquifying narratives that are being shoved down their throats, citizens find themselves in an unfamiliar, topsy turvy world.  The “utter confusion and disorder” foisted upon Johnnie and Janie Canuck by virtue of these unchallengeable attacks on their traditional mores and way of life are not just disorientating for them, they are catastrophic for their society-writ-large.  So says evolutionary biologist Dr. Bret Weinstein who testified at a Senator Ron Johnson “Roundtable” (03:30:30 mark) discussion in February of 2024.  He stated, in no uncertain terms, that the human mind simply cannot tolerate the profound disorientation that comes with society’s truth-seeking mechanisms breaking down and with certainty itself becoming a bygone relic.  After all, such a society cannot agree on reality and is ”blindfolded at the wheel” as it careens down a path that inevitably leads to disaster.

Weinstein is not alone in his assessment and is joined on this side of the border by professor of law, Bruce Pardy.  Mr. Pardy is adamant that Canada has surrendered its representative democracy by virtue of delegating its law-making capacities to an  “administrative state”.  The danger comes when the state’s “professional regulators” take up the chalice of woke, post-national narratives “steeped in misinformation and dogma”.  With public oversight in the rear-view mirror, the way is now clear for the rule of law to be replaced by rule of the expert.  National and citizen interests be damned as the protection of preferred narratives justifies the quashing of dissent.  After all, “allowing a bit of evidence or common sense through the cracks would cause the whole edifice to fall" and that just cannot be permitted.  Accordingly, this new topsy turvy world is a truly fragile thing and, as opposition mounts to its existence by truth-seeking elements and personalities, it requires more and greater oppressive measures to keep it in place.

This topsy turvy world that Canadians now find themselves in is not just confined to the northern half of the North American continent.  It seems as though the whole of the Western world has been turned upside-down to include Australia, New Zealand, all of Europe, save for Poland and Hungary, the UK and the U.S. prior to the 47th presidency of Donald Trump.  The two central European outliers are interesting in that they are both characterized by traditional values that “are steadily recovering ground, particularly among the younger generation”.  According to Viktor Orbán, Hungary’s prime minister, it is these traditional Judeo-Christian values that vaccinate his fellow citizens from the “woke virus”.  It can, arguably, be stated that it is this drive to retain traditional mores that has set both Poland and Hungary against the EU’s migration policies.  Policies that they both see as more trouble than they are worth.

Enemy action

For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together. Psalm 71:10

The reticence of both Hungary and Poland to participate in what some would call the “suicidal empathy” driving open door migration policies does seem to have some security benefits.  It’s not a large leap of logic to link the more restrictive immigration policies of the two central European states to vastly reduced levels of terrorism in comparison to other EU states.  The fact that the EU sees such populist notions as an existential threat to its hegemony over Europe is manifested by its efforts to cancel the populists.  And so, we saw baldfaced efforts to crash the democratic process in Romania by quashing the election of a duly elected populist government and prime minister.  Then there was the EU’s effort to derail elections in Georgia not to mention the attempt to criminalize the popular AfD Party in Germany.  As Bret Weinstein noted in his testimony to Senator Johnson’s “Roundtable”, “once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence and three times is enemy action” (03:32:31 mark).

Like the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, Europe's attack on populism is a coordinated enemy attack?
Like the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, Europe's attack on populism is a coordinated enemy attack?

Lest one be inclined to think that the attack on populist politics is only a coordinated European affair, one need only look to Canada’s legacy media treatment of the People’s Party of Canada and even the more establishment Conservative Party.  In the former case, the party’s platform of responsible immigration policies, a dumping of divisive “diversity, inclusion and equity” (DIE) programs and de-centralized government operations led to media allegations of extremism, racism and even “white supremacy”.  In the case of Election 2025 and the media’s treatment of the Conservative Party (CPC), it is safe to say that the CPC was pilloried as a weak sister in a Liberal Party putsch to go “elbows up” against “bad man orange” and his overtures to join the U.S. as its 51 state.  It might be said that biased reportage aimed at securing the political status quo is not generated by the government itself but, then again, it’s the same government that vassalizes the establishment media with hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.

A vassalized Canadian legacy media does the dirty on populist parties on behalf of a Liberal government?
A vassalized Canadian legacy media does the dirty on populist parties on behalf of a Liberal government?

The observation that “three times is enemy action” does not only apply to toxic political battles in our current era.  There are also the much more critical and coordinated actions against civil liberties, particularly in the form of freedom of speech.  Governments across the West have legislated these curtailments into place on the heels of open-door migration policies beginning in 2015.  In the UK it was the Online Safety Act of 2023, in Germany it was the Network Enforcement Act of 2017 and across the EU in general it was the Digital Services Act of 2024.  Canada has desperately tried to follow the European example but its related legislation, in the form of Bill C-63 (Online Harms Act), has been delayed through prorogation and election calls.  Instead, Canada has had to rely on its administrative and professional classes to shut down speech with charges of “discriminatory statements”.  Examples of each include the jailing of a British housewife and former child minder for inappropriate social media comments, a German journalist sentenced for a social media meme and a B.C. nurse who dared challenge gender-fluid washrooms policies.  It would seem that enemy actions by the ruling class in defense of irrational narratives and against salt-of-the-earth citizens is a very real thing.
